Well, technically, her first recruit is Lucija Banovic, who's already a freshman:

She signed over the summer after Coach Cimino recruited her in Europe.

Thank you - did not realize or remember. Coach Cimino's teams at St Francis had a non U.S. contingent.

This makes me happy. The two '24s are clearly D1 players. They chose Dartmouth over lots of other offers. Austin: Pepperdine, St. Mary's, Indiana State, Cornell); Muhammad: Colgate, CCSU. That not only suggests a step up in talent for the Green, but also says Coach Cimino has recruiting skills.

It's a good start. It will be great when she gets a player who chooses Big Green over Cornell, Brown, or Penn.

Getting better talent to come to Hanover is definitely a step in the right direction.
I wouldn't expect any of those players to make All-Ivy immediately, but hopefully they can help us win games down the road.

You left out a few more offers (admittedly, low-D1 offers) for both.
That said, your greater point stands. It's easier to win with players that other schools wanted than it is with players that other schools didn't want.

Another commit with other D1 interest
Zeynep Ozel 5'8" point guard from Blair Academy in NJ. Had offers from Stetson, Bryant, Sacred Heart, Hofstra.
Looks and plays a bit like current starter, Nina Minicozzi.

Seems odd to have point guards in consecutive classes?
Unless the plan is for one to play off ball.
But, I guess it's better to get good players and figure the rest out later than be too picky about recruiting to position.

Big Green add a 5th recruit 6-0 Shooting Guard Annika Jiwani from Troy HS in Cali. Annika was part of Gianna Bryant's Team Mamba.

Weird recruiting history going by her twitter feed. She had an offer from UC Riverside as a sophomore and visited Cal State Fullerton. And then... nothing until she announced her Dartmouth commitment.
My guess is an injury?

Looks like she was indeed injured for a while. Check out the "Notes" to this article.

Buddy Teevens had success taking chances on guys who were injured and might have had several offers had they remained healthy. We will see if Cimino's gambit pays off as well...
