Game one is a trip to Boston. From the game notes, the Probable Starters are: Williams, Dolan, Gray, Boothby, and Hansen. Interesting to see Gray in the starting lineup and Manon coming off the bench (unless Manon is hurt). Otherwise, pretty much what I would expect.
Three newcomers get longer write-ups, indicating likely participation in the rotation. JUCO G Max Watson, DJ Nix, and Cooper Noard.

Another interesting question is whether Cornell continues to play at the same pace and utilize as many players as last year. They have four very important pieces to replace. The discussion of the newcomers suggests they will continue to play a deep bench with nobody playing more than 25 minutes or so per game. Last year, they seemed to split up the scorers rather than starting their “best” five. So that may explain Manon not starting, assuming he is healthy. He may just be anchoring the second team, which likely will play nearly as much as the first.

All indications are that Earl plans to play the same style. Patel and Jones should be replaceable with a more experienced Gray and Nix. Noll will be harder to replace; Dolan and Williams will have to step up their games and maybe get some contributions from the new guards. Dickson's minutes though? Hansen will get 20-ish, but it will be interesting to see what Earl does with the other 20.
You could be right on Manon's being part of the second wave. Noll came off the bench for most of last season. It's just that Manon started over 20 games last year, so it took me by surprise.

Cornell misses its first 8 three pointers, but have fought their way back to a 43-41 deficit at the half. Manon came off the bench early. Williams has hit four bombs to lead the team with 12 points, but he needs to value the ball more.
11 guys have hit the floor so far.

Tough loss but a good effort by Cornell. I liked Earl’s substitution pattern, play a lot of guys in the first half and then go with your guys in 2nd half you trust. 9 players got significant minutes with Williams, Dolan, and Boothby around 30 each. It was only one game but they missed Dickson, if they had a big for a few more rebounds and to take up some space in the middle it could have been a different outcome.

They also missed Kobe's passing skills. Hansen's 9 turnovers were a killer and have to improve.
Now, can someone get Ragland to stop shooting threes? He'd be so valuable if stayed on the blocks.

A lot of the turnovers are on backdoor passes that are just not available and still try to thread the needle on the pass. I have to believe the first line of the opponent’s defensive scout on Cornell is “don’t get backdoored”
Ragland likes to trail the break and looks to spot up for the three, running him thru the lane on occasion would open him up for some easy shots. At 6’8” he is pretty mobile and could score inside and rebound as well.

Guy brings a lot to the table, but he would help the team if he mainly left the three point shooting to the better shooters. Not saying never take a three, but in a year and a game for Cornell, and even though he's hitting over 60% from inside the arc and 32.5% outside, he's taken three times as many threes as twos. That ratio should be the other way around.
He can be disruptive on defense, a strong rebounder and has a nice touch around the rim. But the missed threes are not much different than turnovers, since they are possessions where the Big Red is not maximizing its chance to score.
