Wow, we look absolutely terrible. Navy's defense is smothering us inside and our guys can't make any open 3s. I didn't realize what a solid season Navy had last year - these guys are pretty good.
Let's see if we can get back in the game...

As noted, looking really, really ragged. Lappas pointing out obvious defensive errors. Terrible shot selection. Poor shooting. I cannot think of a single positive this half.

That might have been the worst half of Princeton basketball in years. A total disaster on both ends after a hot start (9-2).
The only mitigating circumstance is Mitch using this game as an evaluation/learning tool. He went to the freshman and 3rd stringers unusually quick and he kept them in despite the deficit growing. If we're gonna lose, we might as well give non-starters some extra run.
This game feels over, so I just hope our guys bring some defensive energy. Navy came out AMPED like it was a tournament game and knocked us to the mat. As did the wet floor, ha.

Kellman is unstoppable 1-on-1 inside! So in control too. Cuts the lead to 6! At least we won't go down like fools.

Ugh, refs save Navy - Allocco gets fouled hard on the final possession but no fouled/FTs. CBS announcers Lappas and Parrish were both in disbelief at the no-call. Mitch apoplectic.
Got cheated out a win (or at least OT), but we started so lethargic in the first half that it was a miracle to come so far back. Combined with another weak 3pt and FT shooting night, it was too much to overcome.
Langborg and Co. have to start hitting some 3s or it's going to be a long season. Tosan can't operate without proper spacing. Kellman is going to be a force.

The no-call was so embarrassingly bad, there was no celebration from the home crowd. I've never heard such quiet after a close win - they knew it was a gift from the refs.
Hofstra beat a good Iona team and Navy looks to be as good as last year's solid squad. To lose both games is pretty gut-wrenching, but this definitely feels like an instructive loss.

I was there for the first half..had to leave for the long drive home.
I was depressed when I left, but pleasantly surprised we clawed back.
Is this game available for replay anywhere?

Mr. Google says that CBS Sports Access offers replays of CBS Sports Network games, but I have no first hand experience with this. I presume that as with ESPN+ there is a subscription fee.

I saw most of the Houston-St. Jo game (yes the flapping Hawk was there); Houston is impressive.
Since I did not see the second half, can others describe what worked better? In the first half, Tosan and Keeshan looked out of synch with each other. And the perimeter defense shut down the three-ball. Ryan was covered like a blanket.

The defense improved, and Kellman was
very effective inside. Alloccco also
scored both 3s and going to the hoop.
Lee contributed some, but we need more
punch off the bench.

Good. I got very tired seeing Navy drive down the right side of the lane, and work in the low post on the right. Can't we at least force them left?

In addition to more aggressive defense, we also utilized the 1-3-1 to great effect - Navy's offense really struggled to adjust. Usually, it only works for a short while, but Mitch stuck with it for a good chunk of the 2nd half.
Our 3pt defense was really bad all-game though - there was a lot of going under screens on good shooters and not knowing when to switch. This should get cleaned up as the younger players gain more experience.
Offensively, we went to Kellman more in the 2nd half and he was unstoppable until he ran out of gas at the end. This was huge since Tosan kept making TOs due to our lack of spacing. We really need Langborg to start shooting like he can. Right now, opponents can double Tosan without fear of getting burned on 3s.
