No Dan Friday in the starting line - Perry Cowan takes his place. Hoping Friday will come off the bench as he's been one of our best players through three games.

Friday is out and the offense has missed his ability to get to the rim and finish. We have replicated the defensive effort from Sunday but the offense has not been as efficient. 29% from the field, 17% from beyond the arc. Yuck.

Nana has been a lifesaver on offense - he is getting touches in the paint and showing off a great touch on his jumper from 10ish feet. Kloman is playing his way into taking minutes from Cowan - he is bringing the energy on defense and is hitting the three. Even a slight improvement on offense in the second half would give us some breathing room down the stretch.

53 points on 70 possessions - that's as efficient a defensive performance as the Bears have put up since 2019. This isn't a world-beating Stony Brook team, but as JBears pointed out, they had size and would fall somewhere between Columbia and Dartmouth in the Ivies, based on their current Kenpom ranking, so a double-digit win is encouraging.

Fitting that T. Choh was in the stands to watch Kalu Anya do the kind of things he did so well. The frosh had a double-double, with 8 of his 10 rebounds coming in the form of offensive rebounds. He gets to the line at high rate - unfortunately, he makes his free throws at a significantly lower rate, but any improvement in that regard will make him even more of an asset for the Bears. A great game for Nana, who showed why the coaching staff and fans alike are excited about his potential. Finished 1 rebound shy of a double-double, but I was particularly impressed by some of his passes, as he racked up 5 assists.

Friday was out with Covid. Wojcik had an uncharacteristically poor shooting night, but that said, it’s still a good win.

It’s a win. It’s also the best ball movement I can remember seeing from Brown. They worked inside-out against the 2-3 zone very well. They got many good shots and missed almost as many. Most complete game from Nana in a Brown uniform. Huge in that first half. Anya was the difference with his offensive rebounding. I called o-rebs a weakness of this team but Anya, Nana and Ndur outrebounded a much larger front line. SB is very thin and missed a lot of reasonable shots too. Kino came alive in the 2nd and Kloman was huge in the 1st. Wojcik was everywhere in a complete game. But someone needs to make him practice FTs; no excuse for your shooter to shoot FTs this poorly.
LET'S go BRU-no (duh. nuh. nuh-nuh-nuh)
