Disappointing 93-70 loss to a Maine squad that simply outplayed us in practically every aspect of the game. Columbia's inexperience showed up throughout most of the game as the Lions struggled to execute well on both offense and defense. The hoped for identity" that every winning team needs was not there tonight. In their prior game against Delaware State the Lions appeared to have found that identity. With their speed and athleticism, they took down Delaware State with relative ease. Nothing like that happened tonight. Clearly this Columbia team'w primary assets are the agility and smarts of its backcourt players. The Lions have very good players in the backcourt. Rubio De La Rosa and Avery Brown are both very talented players who should be scoring in high double digit in every game. Noland, McLean and Cooper are also very talented. Columbia has sufficient depth in the backcourt with those guys and perhaps others to run an uptempo offense for an entire game.

Maine is better than the metrics -- they're being regressed to their historical terribleness, but they've been actually decent this year under a new coach.

But...still yikes.

The Lions' D around the basket seemed non-existent at times.
They're learning...

Yes, it was nonexistent, which is how we allowed 1.41 points per possession and why we have now dropped to KP #346.

Most of the time inside, no one on the inside jumped, and Maine scored. When someone on the inside did jump, they just waited until the player came down, and Maine scored.
