36-19 lead at the half.

Just about everything going right - Langborg hit some early 3s and Tosan dominated on both ends. Defense has contained Marist's top scorer, Patrick Gardner, who has 3 TOs and 2 PFs.

Let's see if they can keep it up...

A little tentative now. And Marist D is better.

That shot-blocker for Marist has Tosan very hesitant.

Teams are swarming Tosan and Kellman in the paint. Instant double teams without pause on every touch. As a result, our shooters have been wide-open all night, but we're not hitting enough. Langborg has missed 6 in a row. His layups haven't gone down either.

All that's keeping us in the lead is Allocco's insane tough 3s. I've never seen any Princeton player hit so many end of (shot)clock 3s.

Well, that got ugly. I think Langborg brought back memories of The Eagles: hands as cold as ice.

We hang on - 62-55. It wasn't pretty, but it was progress. Kudos to Deven Austin, who had an EPIC posterizer dunk, made some miscues, then came back and went 4-4 at the FT line to seal it. These freshmen are growing up quick.

I also continue to be impressed by Caden Pierce, who plays as mistake-free as I've ever seen a freshman play. The fact that he's playing 30+ mpg without lighting up the scoreboard shows his value on defense and a glue guy on offense.

Offensively, we're still searching for answers. Teams are wise to Kellman now and daring us to shoot open 3s... and we're not making them pay. Langborg started 3-4, then finished 0-7. Allocco is by far our best 3pt shooter, so he's going to have to shoot way more. Pierce and Peters too.

Only watched the final 10 minutes and man that was ugly, but at least it's a win. Really like what Austin showed down the stretch.

Ugly seems to be the word of choice for last night’s game. I had watched the football team’s excruciating loss to Penn earlier and as the Tiger lead dwindled and the offensive possessions became increasingly aimless, I keep thinking, “Really?? Again???” But they drew fouls, hit their FTs, and got the unsightly win. Nice to see the freshman get so many quality minutes and play pretty well, interesting that last year’s recruiting class has not seen court time so far.

In the last 10 minutes it seemed like every time Tosan was doubled it resulted in kick outs and Marist was able to quickly adjust their rotations, which yielded few decent shot opportunities and a lot of shot clock futility (Allocco saved two of these with insanely difficult treys).

Last year when this happened, Ethan or Jaelin would often make baseline weak side cuts that resulted in layups. Langborg has tried a few of these but he does not seem to have the athleticism to finish reliably in traffic. Pierce clearly has the speed, strength and hops to channel his inner Ethan and get to the rim; Austen (or Stephens, as the announcers preferred) does too (wow!).

The game would have gone an entirely different direction if Langborg had shot 40% from the three point line in the second half. Variance!

The middle is VERY congested when Tosan and Keeshawn are both on the court. Each of them is having a tough time scoring. The four blocked shots by Ingo contributed to the difficulty.

Allocco had no expectation to make either of those shots, let alone both.

And one friendly (but correct) foul call made the game a free throw shooting contest.

I can see the difficulties, but I'm not smart enough to offer answers.

I can only hope they find some consistency on offense. And I predict it will not occur with Tosan and Keeshawn on the court at the same time. I hope I am incorrect.

With Tosan+KK: won 24-16 on 25 possessions
Otherwise: lost 39-38 on 40 possessions

the numbers seem to bear out that we need both of them.
My guess is they will find a way to share the lane,
especially if the guards start hitting more shots.
two quality bigs is a nice problem to have in the Ivies.

I believe this is the first time we "won" with the twins towers configuration.

Can you tell us who scored the 24 points?
