Down 29-20 at half, pretty ugly game both ways. Looked like it could get out of hand after a 9-0 start, since then it's been Princeton's style of game, but hard to see where the offense for a comeback could come from.

I know it's much too early to reach conclusions, but reading the boxscores, it seems like the team is not getting a dramatic impact from first year players as some had forecast. I think only one has any PT, and not shooting very well.

You are correct. Tabitha Amanze is apparently still recovering from her knee injury. At 6'4" she would have been helpful yesterday against Texas, which had three players at 6'4". Taylor Charles is apparently not ready to play, perhaps because her defense is weak. St. Rose has played off the bench, but her shooting has been terrible (23%), including only 1 of 16 from 3 pt range. Let's hope she isn't one of those great high school stars who just doesn't make it at the college level.

Defense was supposed to be Taylor Charles' strong suit.

The jump from high school to college on the defensive end is astronomical, it's extremely rare to see first year players thrive on that end. Berube has so much experience on the floor from her starters that the fall off must seem even more pronounced.

Not fair to jump to conclusions this early. Early season schedule has been brutal and Carla will use the fresh when they are ready.

For sure not jumping to conclusions, just stating the fact that HS to College transition can take more time on one end of the floor than the other.

Berube is a great coach and will definitely get her players ready for a deep run this season.

Carla's focus is always preparation for the League. The record of the OOC teams last season was something like 264-125. St. Rose will be fine this season, but if not surely next. Early candidate for Ivy game of year: Columbia at Princeton January 6.

Head and shoulders above the rest of the league, for sure, those two teams are going to be great to see battle.

In ESPN's latest edition of Charlie Creme's Bracketology, Princeton drops from a #7 seed to a #9 seed facing #8 seed Duke. Surprisingly, coming off its 78-71 victory over U of Miami in the Thanksgiving tournament, Columbia becomes the AQ from the Ivy League with a #12 seeding. Columbia won't need any motivation for the Jan. 6 game at Jadwin, but now ESPN is in effect picking Columbia to win the Ivy League Tournament, which will be held in Jadwin in March.

Don't discount Harvard. I wouldn't be surprised if they beat Columbia this year.

Totally possible but having watched both of them play this season I'd say a top form Columbia is better than a best scenario Harvard. For me, Columbia's Patrick is the wildcard, if she's playing well Harvard has nobody who can match up against her. In any event, it's going to be fun to watch.

Agree that if both teams play at top form Columbia has the edge. The problem is that almost never happens. As for Patrick being the wild card, that is certainly true. I said that last year going into the Tiger games. The flip side of that is that Harmoni Turner can present the same problems for Columbia. It's why Columbia had so much trouble with Princeton. They had no one that could keep Kaitlyn Chen under wraps. Both teams can shoot it well at times, but I think the real key is can Davis and Patrick stay out of foul trouble. They both have a tendency to pick up some cheap fouls.
