The women beat Lafayette 91-43 (Hsiu gets 25), while the men defeat New Hampshire 56-52 (Thompson with 13). Since the men probably won't win very many games this season, tonight marks a rare double victory.

I was unable either to attend or to see the game on ESPN. Can we hear from somebody who saw the game, especially the rally in the second half? If looks as if we still have trouble putting the ball in the hoop. Also, I can’t tell much about the substitution pattern, and what is goin on with C S-O’s playing time.

C S O is, as I understand it from an announcer at least temporarily off the team. I hesitate to speculate, but I will anyway: just past midterms, it could be an academic issue?
As to our offense, we have three first years who averaged in the high teens last year. In transition to the IL, they have followed the typical dropoff to 8 ppg. The problem is that if we have DLR maturing to 13 or 14 ppg alongside three players averaging 8, we don't have much offense. Unless the team comes together or someone breaks out later in the season, I suspect this pattern will hold for the entire year.

Communications are not this Athletic Department's forte so Columbia Men's Basketball fans are not usually privy to any detailed information on the players, pro or con. However, while CSO is now apparently mia, sophomore forward Noah Robledo suddenly reappeared during the second half of yesterday's game against Sarah Lawrence. Robledo looked like he hadn't missed a beat since last season and was moving great around the floor and shooting lights out! Robledo impressed me with his skills last season so I believe he can help us this year specially now that Murphy and CSO are not playing.

Was there an actual report from Engles in the email with the schedule which went out today? If so I did not see it. And what iOS the story with Robledo—does he seem to have a pathetic to playing time?

In my opinion, Noah Robledo is a very talented
basketball player who definitely should have ".. a path to playing time." He's a very smooth 6'5" wing who definitely can contribute up front where the Lions need help. However, I do not believe any of us know the coaching staff's road map. Take Robbie Stankard, for example. He's a very powerful 6'9" 240 big man with an excellent outside shot, but obviously Columbia needs him to post up under the basket where he should be able to score almost at will in the Ivy League. He has also the abiity to be an outstanding rebounder. If he were playing for Yale, Joe Jones would make certain that he would stay in the low post, but I do not see that happening yet at Columbia.

According to this tweet - https://twitter.com/jakelieberman2/status /16002450... - CSO is in the transfer portal. Not great news in the short term, but this likely means more minutes for Robledo and other guys further down the roster, who will be back next year, unlike CSO.
