Got my first glance of the women’s team today… a very impressive win on the road in Amherst against an excellent UMass team who beat Arizona St by 24 in Tempe and lost to Tennessee by single digits in Knoxville.

This is a special team… arguably the equivalent to having Jenkins, Lo, and Agho on the floor together.

The Lions (9-2) now have FIVE quality wins on the road this season: Memphis, Miami (FL), Seton Hall, Stony Brook, and UMass. Wow.

The better the women do, the sharper the contrast to the disappointment of our MBB program. Coaching matters. Does anybody in a position of authority care?

I had trouble viewing today's game on ESPN+ Shortly after the start of the second quarter, the video transmission was interrupted and a text message came on the screen that read "We are unable to play this video at this time. Please try again." From that point, the video transmission came and went continuously so that I barely saw another five minutes of the game. If anyone can enlighten me regarding what to do technically to avoid what happened to my video transmission today, it would be greatly appreciated. As to the game, Abby Shu was amazing in the first quarter scoring 17 points. I think she ended up with about 35 points. She's an incredible outside shooter. This was a big win for not only Columbia, but the entire Ivy League. We are starting to see a situation develop where Ivy League teams are starting to get more respect in the national rankings which could lead to a second NCAA Tournament bid in March.

I don't buy the "big win for league" stuff. It's a big win for Columbia. If Columbia goes 13-1 or 12-2 and then loses the tournament the Lions should be a lock for the NCAA tourney. Same goes for Princeton. I don't see any other team likely to win the tourney at Jadwin. But we shall see.

Sounds like ESPN had technical issues today. When I clicked on the ESPN+ link, it said I was not authorized to view this content. I closed the app, then reopened it and was ok after that.

With the blowout loss at Iowa St and the home loss to Vanderbilt, I wouldn't say they're a lock, but point taken... there will be some consideration IF they go perfect vs Ivy teams not named Princeton.

I left out Delaware as one of their quality road wins this season... current NET ranking in parentheses:

Wins:
at UMass (52)
at Miami (FL) (55)
at Memphis (58)
at Seton Hall (61)
at Delaware (128)
at Stony Brook (204)
Home vs Marist (272)
Home vs Lafayette (298)
Neutral vs Arkansas (Pine-Bluff) (300)

Losses:
at Iowa St (20)
Home vs Vanderbilt (85)

The tech problem has also happened to me a lot. But I have learned that if you back out and return to the scheduled games, click on our game, and it will usually come back on pretty quickly.

Usually works for me too. Sometimes I have to do it 2 or 3 times during course of a game but I rarely miss more than a minute or two.
