Columbia and Yale opened their Ivy season with Columbia prevailing 62-60. Since I haven't seen Columbia mentioned in the top 5 of the Ivies, any thoughts of whether the Lions are going to be competitive in the League or is Yale not as good as was thought?

The Lions are one of the worst teams in the country according to KenPom. I would be shocked if they are in the top 5. I’d also be surprised if Yale misses the playoffs. I think this was just one of those games that indicates how much tougher things get in conference.

Also, while Columbia is likely to finish 7th or 8th this year, they could be pretty good in a year or two. They’ve got some talented freshmen. I think we got a glimpse of their potential today.

Columbia is a young team, but they have athleticism and some depth. In addition to the starters, they had four other players who logged more than ten minutes of playing time today.

Yale had a miserable first half, offensively. Knowling, in his first game back from injury, was not sharp, and the guards couldn't make shots from three point range.

They played far better in the second half, but couldn't quite erase the 16 point hole they dug for themselves.

If we shoot 38% and 21% from 3, the same thing will likely happen to us tomorrow night.

Unlike Levien, Penn teams tend to shoot well at the Pizz.

So true - we’ve had some awful shooting nights at Levian
