I’ve got some discomfort with the guard matchup here. It seems to me that Slajchert will have to guard Lilly, just based on size and skill set, at least while the Brown starters are in. I guess the theory will be to be ready to help Clark and whoever has Wojcik, and hope the other guys don’t have a good shooting night. Seems like most teams manage to defend Brown pretty well, so hopefully we figure it out. There will be an unusual amount of burden on Clark and Dingle on the defensive end, so it will be interesting to see how they handle it (and whether it impacts them at all on offense).

In the other Penn v . Brown game (WBB), our quakers are absolutely pummeling the bears. Up 45-19 at the half, with a lead of 28 at one point.

Very sluggish start. Brown is giving Dingle zero room to drive. This does allow Slajchert more room to operate when he gets the ball, but he has to do a better job of converting his opportunities.

Nice alley oop from Dingle to Slajchert to do just that.

That was a gutsy move taking Dingle out there. The team has looked better.

Right now Brown is letting our big guys have the ball down low because they don't think we can score that way, and for the most part that's been the case so far.

Meanwhile, we can't handle their big on the other end.

You'd think SD would try to draw something up to free Dingle...just zero operating room in the half court for him this half.

Finally, Clark draws a charge and Brown finally records its first foul with less than 7 to play in the half.

Dingle finally scores getting it off the ball from Monroe. Let's see other variations of that, too.

21-19 Quakers with a little over 3 to play.

So far Brown has totally dictated the pace of this game, and Dingle with only 2 points and...we're still winning.

On the plus side, a decent defensive effort out there which is keeping us in this one.

For those of you unfamiliar with Dingle and this year’s Quakers, Jordan tries to get everyone else involved in the first half scoring, then looks to take over in the second.

No, he is constantly being doubled and/or given no space. To his credit, he's giving the ball up instead of trying to force matters and turn it over.

Which he did right there at the end of the half, forced it and got it stolen.

We’re winning because Brown is shooting terribly.

Both teams are shooting poorly, especially from deep. Most of those long range shots have been uncontested.

Different game and tempo in the second half so far. And Brown has decided not to double Dingle as much, with predictable results.

Wasting too many possessions allowing our bigs to force it inside rather than trying to get our better scorers the ball and passing it to the bigs if Brown overplays

Brown is not double teaming Dingle this half, I think I only saw once such time. So they don't need to play the big man game the way that they did in the first half.
