The last two games at Jadwin (2020 & 22) were completely dominated by the Tigers… each one over by halftime. But this one should be close and a lot of fun to watch. Can’t wait. Go Lions!

I hate to say it but if this game is a blowout it will be the Lions dominating. They get 83 a game and have 5 players who AVERAGE double figures. Tigers score 20 less per game. If we can hold the Lions to 70 it will be a good effort, but to win the Tigers will need to find offense from someone not named Kaitlyn Chen. Griffith's program is built to produce and to last. Looks like other teams in the League are improving as well. Great to see.

Agreed. Although Princeton usually makes things close, Columbia has almost always found another gear and is in those stretches absolutely dominant. I don't know who Griffith will put on Chen (presumably Patrick or Henderson), but if Columbia can hold her scoring to a reasonable level, then they should win, because their offense is just more diversified.

I agree with the comments of Peter D, Toothless Tiger and cc66 I might also suggest that Princeton's plan probably will be to get Kaitlyn Davis in trouble early in the game as her importance to Columbia's success cannot be minimized. Hate to say it, but the game may be decided ultimately by the refs. Hopefully, there will be a solid group of Columbia fans in attendance at Princeton

I would be concerned that Columbia will come out overly hyped and will be too tight to play its usual game. This might be reflected in Columbia’s shooting.

It worked out the way they planned--Chen got her 20, but on 8 for 25 shooting, and no one else was in double figures.

Silver lining for Tigers: we lost the POY but nevertheless took the Lions into OT. Columbia is loaded with talent AND experience. Should be a most interesting battle.

It was a terrific game in every respect with the outcome in doubt to the final moment of overtime. I couldn't imagine anything better. May I thank Coach Griffith and the Columbia Women's Basketball Team for providing the best evening of Columbia Basketball that I have seen in many years.

As a sidebar to the establishment of a successful program, I would think that Columbia should become more attractive to some high caliber recruits.

Columbia has four known commitments for the incoming class namely Emily Montes, a highly regarded point guard Trinity High School in South Florida, Olivia Cooper, a talented 6'1" wing from Pickerington Central High School in Ohio the same school that Nicole Stevens attended, Riley Weiss, a high scoring forward/guard who plays on Long Island; and a player from Spain whose name escapes me at this moment. I trust the incoming class is not yet completed.

Back to the men: looks like the Yale game was a fluke. We were embarrassed by Princeton last night and humiliated by Penn tonight. Dingle toyed with us until he was pulled with 7 or 8 minutes to go. Usual problems- terrible shooting especially from 3 point range, missing foul shots on the front end, soft defense, unforced errors, no floor leader, etc. All I can say is that we play hard despite a huge talent deficit.

Staying with the men, it is now evident that last weekend's surprising two point victory over Yale was indeed a "fluke," and this year's Columbia team is not quite ready yet for prime time. However, notwithstanding that reality, our talented young players are getting valuable playing time with each and every game. Thus, looking at things optimistically it is certainly possible, that Columbia will improve significantly during its final ten games of the Ivy League season. For that to happen, however, I do believe that the coaching staff does have to correct some of the many deficiencies that are evident to everyone following the team as outlined in the game telecasts by former college coaches Dr. John Gianni and Barry Rohrsen. Certainly, they both know their stuff and their mild constructive criticism is certainly not personal or aimed directly at Engles or his coaching staff. In summary, it is now evident that Yale Game #1 was misleading.

Dingle is the best Ivy SG that I have seen since our own Maodo excellent step back 3 point shooter.
