10-9 Penn at the first break. Both teams getting easy shots. Penn has to step up the D.

Penn 23-19 at 2nd break--still giving up too many easy shots. Martz with 3 early 3s. As often happens, Dingle is not shooting early. Spinoso looks good.

Actually, Martz has 4 early threes.

And Smith with one. Troubling, however, that Dartmouth is essentially doing whatever it wants on the offensive end.

Dingle with a potential 4 point play at the 4th break after a 6-0 Dartmouth run was stopped. Penn really has to step up the defense (broken record)

Penn surrenders 15 points in the last 8 defensive possessions, providing the detail behind P38's accurate diagnosis of poor defense.

There was a noticeable drop-off with MLL in the game. Even though he theoretically adds a lot of athleticism and size to our defense, Spinoso is so much stronger and more active. Such a stark difference watching them. MLL has a bit too much hesitation and he tends to be smooth instead of explosive. He needs to be know what he should do with the ball before he gets it - and he needs to take it up quickly and finish strong. No feathering the finish.

Martz is clearly feeling it - very decisive. Slajchert's floaters have clearly become a real strength this season. He finishes in spite of the degree of difficulty.

Terrible call against Smith gave Dartmouth a final 3 to cut Penn lead to 6 at the half. Great half for Martz and Spinoso

Can you imagine how far ahead they would be if they played the kind of defense they are capable of?

Looks like Donahue had something to say at halftime--Penn comes out playing strangling Defense and lead up to 13 4 minutes into the 2nd half.

If Spinoso had Slajchert's finishing, he could be the next Brodeur. He's got a good combination of spins and hooks. His touch isn't bad, but not quite locked in.

2 missed Spinoso FTs and 2 offensive fouls later, it's a game again.

Spinoso is a 31% FT shooter who is 3-5 tonight. I’ll take it.

Dingle misses inside...his man blows by him for a layup and then takes a quick bad 3. Gotta slow down and work it as we did when we ran up the lead.

Penn needs to go to rebounding school. Getting destroyed on the boards by a team that isn't taller
