Fail to double Dingle, and he hits and draws a phantom foul on Pierce, but misses the FT.

Dingle trips and they call a bogus foul on Alocco. Still a three-possession lead under 2:30

Langborg has been nails tonight on D and with floor plays like breaking the Penn press with under 90 seconds left.

Nice recovery after the Brown loss. We're gonna have to win more ugly games like this if we want a trip to the Big Dance.
Even when we were up 10 against Brown, I noticed we had gotten away from our gritty, defensive-minded approach. The 3s were falling so we didn't fight for every rebound or go up strong at the rim. Sure enough, our 3s stopped falling and Brown squeaked out a victory.
Tonight, we got back to basics and won despite 4-25 3pt shooting (virtually all wide-open looks too).

72-60 win, not as close as the score indicated. A good example of how this team has more than one way to win. The treys weren't falling, but Alocco and Langborg shutting down Dingle and Slajchert for most of the game was an OK trade-off, as the rest of the Tigers were more than a match for the Quakers.

Great defensive effort on Penn's guards, coupled with a
huge effort from Tosan.
penn is tied with Harvard and Yale. they won't all make the
Tournament.

Really impressed with that win and beating Penn always brings me joy. The shots were not falling but the Tigers gritted out the win on defense and on the boards. Tigers have some real scrappers. This looks like a year when “winning ugly” is going to be key and we seem to have guys who can do it. Dingle and Slajchert were swarmed on defense and the duo went a woeful 7 for 32 from the field.

Seven straight over the Quakers now. Is that the longest streak this century? Even earlier?

Random observations:
1. Nice job hugging the Penn shooting duo out beyond the arc, and then everyone collapsing to the lane when they drove. I think they learned from being beaten by Lilly and Wojcik.
2. I finally saw Spinoso shoot (and miss) a hook with his right hand. I hope he never perfects it.
3. We sent everyone to the offensive boards. I would surmise we had no fear of the Penn fast break.
4. Martini looked very tight after missing his first three point shot.

...in fact it's now 15 of 17 (!) dating back to that streak, with the only two losses coming in 2018

2 wins out of 17? A winning percentage below the New York Jets, but above the Washington Generals.

In the stretch from 93 to 96 Penn won 8 straight under Fran Dumpty. In 96 the teams finished the season tied at 12-2. The Tigers won a playoff and went to the NCAA tournament to play UCLA.You know the story.
