Opens Princeton +1 O/U 142
Might flip at tip-off given last night's results.

Princeton should be favored, with Knowling likely not playing.

Knowling’s ankle more than makes up for Austin’s knee.
If I were betting I’d take the Tigers and give the point.

Kelly struggling early a bit. Two Martini treys and a Tosan inside bucket give the Tigers an early lead. Too much fouling by PU, though.

So far it's mostly threes versus twos giving Princeton the lead. They need to string together some stops to really pull ahead.

Good physicality early... that has now dropped off after getting a 15-5 lead. Now it's 18-14.
Yale is a poor FT shooting team. We should keep bringing the physical defense and make them shoot FTs if need be.

It's like a different sport from last night. They aren't calling any of the obvious bumps and grabs by Yale on every possession. Princeton seems to be adjusting to it fine.
I like Mason Hooks on color commentary a lot.

Some foolish turnovers and Poulakedis is blowing up, but the Tigers hold the lead with timely shooting. And one nice Kellman dunk to offset some of his offensive struggles so far.

Bogus block call on Pierce, clearly in position. He wasn't late.

Great ending to the first half, up eight after the beautiful baseline drive by Lamborg and kickout to Allocco for three.
Kellman bothering the Elis around the rim all half.

Solid B-grade first half. We brought the energy early, then let up. We brought it back, but Poulakidas singlehandedly kept Yale in it with 10 straight tough-shot points.
Gotta win this with defense. Win ugly. Send Yale to the FT line in the 2nd.

Whoa, that's pretty wild. He's doing a great job - you'd never know he was student or first-timer. I wonder if this a temporary thing until he rejoins the team next year or maybe he's chosen this career path instead.

Refs seem to think that the rule is that Yale gets every close block/charge call.

PU's backups are playing a lot better than Yale's, especially comparing, say, Martini vs. Kelly (pressed into service because of the Knowling injury). You'd expect that at home to some extent but it's really striking so far. OTOH, their regular Mbeng/Jarvis combo has been lethal offensively on the pick and roll.

Yale is definitely getting 100% of those "50/50" calls. I guess the refs feel bad about Knowling's absence. I don't think that's how it's supposed to work, but man, it's very noticeable.

Weathered the awful reffing and now we're up 19. With 8 minutes left, let's finish strong defensively.

Yet again, we get sloppy as heck with a big lead. Poulakidas hitting back-to-back contested 3s to keep Yale in it.
We have a real focus problem.

Up 11 with 3:54 left. I think the slowdown tactics with the big lead where slightly overdone--it looks good on analytics, but not starting the offense until there's ten or less on the shot clock has led to some really bad possessions. Meanwhile, Yale is scrambling like crazy and diving on every loose ball and rebound.
I can't blame the D too much for Poulakidas hitting those shots. Those were great contests, at least one by Lamborg, who has worked his butt off all game on D.
