Speaking of brighter days, check out the story in today’s NYT on Couch the elder and his son former Columbia star Sean Couch, who averaged over 21 PPG in 1987 and was drafted by the Pacers.
Sean Couch was a great player… after he got cut by the Pacers, he ended up in the Knicks’ training camp and nearly made the team under Rick Pitino. I heard Pitino in an interview, and gave high praise to Couch.
Btw, I still think he deserved the Ivy POY award that year over Perry Bromwell. 36 years later, and I’m still not over it!
