Into the transfer portal per Verbal Commits. Will be interesting to see if he finds a spot with a low-major, perhaps one who has a lot of outbound transfers and needs some height. Hopefully one who doesn't look at his very low rebound rate.

Jake and his classmates unfortunately had to endure four consecutive losing seasons - 30 games under .500 in total. The last time any senior class was that far under .500 was 50 years ago! And the coach responsible for that mess lost his job.

I fully expect Timmerman to take a 5 year somewhere. I know he is also talking about law school.

As would Rice.

The real question is what other players will opt for the portal

Couldn't do most law schools and also play D1 basketball. But he may opt for a 5th year in some other subject and then apply to law schools. A lot of schools would want him.

Of the three seniors, Jake seems like the most likely to stay if allowed, since Bucknell offers a masters program in electrical engineering. I would think he'd get more playing time at Bucknell than at most other schools.

True. But one of the attractions for a new coach would be available roster spots to bring in transfers or recruits. I doubt a new coach would want to keep a marginal 5th year player as opposed to bringing in someone new.

Alex Timmerman and Xander Rice have both entered the portal. Both would help a lot of midmajor programs. Timmerman could be very valuable to a team that allows him to stay in the post and not play 20 feet from the basket. He closed the PL season with three consecutive double doubles.

I believe with good coaching both of these guys could have been better! Timmerman could have been a beast around the rim especially on the offensive side.

Not to mention what Screen may have lost in development during his time at Bucknell.

Bucknell transfer Xander Rice tells TPR that he has received interest from over 20 schools including:

Georgia
Clemson
Wichita State
Georgia Tech
Cal
Wake Forest

Yikes! Where I live. Interesting choice. It’s not a great program.

As a player who did not start this year for Bucknell, I doubt he had many choices.

Also interesting timing, coming relatively shortly after a new, high energy coach named.
