Agree with all choices. Surprised Harmoni Turner was unanimous first team, but the other four were no brainers.

I thought Hsu might beat out Chen, but I think they got this exactly right. The gap between the top 3 players (Padilla the other) was small.

Tiger84 - I agree with your assessment about Turner. Very talented and puts up a lot of points, but her shooting percentage isn't strong. She might still have the advantage over Patrick, Obi and Mullaney for the first team.

Hsu had a very good year, but I think Chen was the right choice. Her talent and consistency, especially in the big games, sets her apart.

Amazing that Ellie Mitchell still can't break into the 2nd team or honorable mention groups.

I agree with you about Mitchell. If you make her second team, the question then becomes who do you leave out. For me the answer is Patrick. Princeton without Mitchell would have far greater consequences for the Tigers then Columbia without Patrick.

Ellie is a unique talent, and a joy to watch. That said, she has holes in her gsme when it comes to finishing at the time.

I would love to see her spend the summer with Alex Wheatley ‘16, who was almost automatic when she got the ball in the paint. Mitchell is close to taking her game to another level, if she can just work on her offensive moves a little.

I totally agree with you about Ellie's "holes" on offense. And in her third year, she does not seem to have made much progress improving her close-range shot or her touch around the rim. It's a little baffling, because I saw her as a high school senior score 26 points against a #1-ranked St. John's team with Azzi Fudd. It's almost as if she has decided she doesn't need to contribute on offense, unless she scores off of steals or rebounds, and let's others do the scoring, while she focuses on defense and rebounding.

That should be “finishing at the rim”

I also came across an interview from 4-5 years ago with her HS coach that talked about how she was working on her outside shooting. That was…surprising.

If she wants to play at the next level (and her defense would play at the next level), this would help.
