St. Rose had a rough night shooting the ball but along with the beautiful screen she set for Stone's final shot, she had two huge defensive plays also. One was the steal that allowed Chen to cut the lead to two and the other on the final possession that caused the scramble and didn't allow NC St. to get off a shot. A perfect example of people contributing big time on this team even if they're not the ones grabbing the headlines by filling the stat sheets.

Tall order for the Tiger women tonight, playing a #2 seed on its home court. Alissa Pili scored 33 in Utah’s 103 point first round game and will be a handful.
I’m sure Coach Berube will have the team ready and that they will play hard but Princeton will need the Utes to take them lightly, like Zona did vs. the men, in order to stay in this game. Utah has wins this year against both Stanford (#1 seed) and UCLA (#4 seed).

Edit - Spoke too soon. If you are going to take a third of the team's shots, you have to shoot better than 20%.

Hard to win against a Top 10 team on their own court when you shoot 5-25 from 3P and your best player shoots 6-26. But the Tigers played tough D throughout and they did themselves and the Ivies proud.
Thanks to Coach Berube and the seniors, especially Grace Stone, Julia Cunningham, and Maggie Connelly, for an outstanding and impressive season!

They gave it their all, but just didn't have enough left in the tank. Before this weekend, Utah's last game was March 2, losing to Washington State in the Pac 12 tournament. So they were rested, while we played two tough games on March 10 and 11, then had to fly to Utah at 4700 feet to play two higher ranked teams. Very proud of this team.

Agreed. They played hard against a very good team
playing at home. I guess we need to win a first round
game and hope for an upset in the bracket so we don't
play a top 10 team qt home.hope the NCAA changes that
aspect of the Women's Tournament.
But a great season, and reason to hope next year will
be another special one.

Unfortunately, Chen had one of her worst games of the year. She ended up getting her points but had the type of game we've forced Abbey Hsu and Kayla Padilla into. Had to take a ton of shots to get her points, therefore was not very efficient. And when you shoot fifteen free throws and your opponent shoots thirty-seven, well that's a lot to overcome. Not complaining about the officiating, it's just the way it was. Yet despite that, we should have been able to overcome it. When you have twenty-nine more field goal attempts, you have to find a way to be seven plus points better.
Ellie Mitchell was terrific. Eighteen boards, ten offensive, three blocks and two steals.
All in all, it was an awful weekend shooting the ball. Don't know if it was the altitude or what, but today's game was certainly winnable. Just proves how hard it is to win in the tournament.
The team will be special again next year, but their MO may be a little different.

Next year will bring improvements IMHO. This team constantly rose to the occasion, however. I won’t repeat reasons cited for its below average offense this weekend and yet, after a rough start today the Team pulled within 2 points in the 4th period. Berube is a winner. I hope we can keep her for awhile.

Not much more anyone can add. Their defense never let up, which says a lot about their determination notwithstanding offensive frustrations.
Great season, and as T69 says, we have a winner with Coach Berube.

Congratulations to Ole Miss. Hope they keep going. Utah beat Stanford at the end of the regular season. And Stanford is not 4,700 feet above sea level, so maybe Ole Miss's challenge was a little lighter. Or maybe not.
