I think Seth should be commended for his perseverance. Multiple knee surgeries and a back surgery. These are remarkable obstacles he had to overcome. Yes, he’s 26 and finally making it to the Big Dance. The current rules certainly permit this, and it’s not like he discontinued his education only to be discovered and recruited solely for basketball like Larry Bird and Moses Scurry (UNLV’s 26 year old center) were.

If Seth Towns were as good as Larry Bird, he too would go play NBA rather than college. I thought he was the best player in the Ivies before that day at the Palestra, but the Bird comparison is a bit over the top.

You misunderstood.
Both Bird and Scurry were 20 year olds not enrolled in college when they were ‘discovered.’
