Amazing story on Eadie...she was on the youth team coached by Kobe Bryant...one of the eight who were not on that helicopter.

Courtney Banghart had good success recruiting from Southern California. Carla, though, seems to be outdoing her. The LA Times 2022-23 Girls All Star team names 10 players including National POY JuJu Watkins (whose teammates next year will include Kaitlyn Davis and Kayla Padilla). Three of the 10 are committed to Princeton: Skye Belker, Ashley Chea and now Emily Eadie:

Eadie sounds like a really solid recruit.

Cannot tell if this is the same Toby Nweke at Georgetown Visitation in DC. The link says Germantown Lady Panthers, which looks like a separate travel team. If it is the same, then she was a HS teammate of incoming recruit Fadima Tall.

Tigers continuing a longstanding recruiting tradition among strong local HS programs in the DMV (DC-MD-VA metro area). Visitation defeated national #1 Sidwell Friends in one of their two conference games this past season.

From the bio for Chet Nweke, who was a junior this year for the Tigers, it seems clear she and Toby are sisters.

Yes, Toby is Chet’s younger sister. Germantown Lady Panthers is the AAU club team whose alumnae include Bella, Abby, Lexi, Ellie and Chet.

And did not their older brother play hoops for Columbia, and another sibling track at Yale?

Coach Berube's niece plays for DC's National Cathedral School (also the alma mater of Bella Alaire).

I actually went and checked. You are correct that Princeton WBB has had a number of DMV players in recent years. Very surprisingly, the other Ivies have only had (at most) one such player from the DMV area--at least as far as current rosters are concerned.

Given that the DMV 1) takes girls' basketball seriously, and 2) is generally a highly-educated area, I can't even guess why there aren't more DMV players on Ivy rosters.

And for anyone who cares about DMV girls' basketball, I am optimistic about National Cathedral School's future prospects. They've been largely irrelevant ever since Bella Allaire left. But their rising seventh grade class has at least five girls who can play. If they stick together, continue to develop, and get some help in the classes above and below them, they may be able to give Sidwell and Visitation (and Maret) a run for their money....

As one with some history with the Cathedral schools (as well as Maret), I doubt NCS will have the sustained athletic performance of the catholic shool basketball programs like Visitation because they view their athletics mission differently. Some good players and teams from time to time, but usually in the so-called country club sports. Sidwell's recent success is entirely a function of their new coach, who has brought in wholesale transfers, so it remains to be seen if she stays and what happens if she goes.

Don't know why you would think I was not familiar with PU's history with these schools as I have posted reports about recruits from the area for years.

Let's just say that I'm paying more attention to the topic these days. Any discussion on the subject didn't really register with me four or five years ago.
