I'd blame the NCAA for the level of opponents. High mid-majors are not coming and playing 3 road games (even if it counts as one). Additionally, as leagues add games to the league schedule, it is harder to find opponents without guarantees (e.g. Penn's trip to Auburn and Houston). This is now the state of college basketball - unless we do something to upgrade the caliber of athletes we can attract (i.e. scholarships or NIL money), this is what our future is destined to be.
