A really nice get. Visited Yale. Princeton's performance in the NCAA tournament may be helping recruiting.

One site lists him as 6-9. Not much video available. Playing as a smallish 5 which he will not be able to do against bigger collegiate 5's. Very active on the boards. Nice short range game. Can't tell if he shoots the 3, but would assume he does.

That name will unleash a torrent of plays on words if he gets any playing time.

Videos show nice jumper with VERY quick release. Spot up or off the dribble. Also nice step back close to the hoop. Sturdy frame and absorbs contact. Good get, as they say.

Does anyone know if Mason Hooks will play this year?
If not , the size issue is an immediate one.

I think, but cannot be sure, that he is going the route of Harrison Schaen and will not be back.

Thanks. Size and whether Austin can play area our
two big question marks for a team with lots of potential.

I have heard rumblings that 6'10" Vernon Collins may be able to fill the void.

Nice article on Jack Stanton, looks like Coach Henderson has borrowed a few pages from Coach Carril’s recruiting playbook.

You need a big man? How about Jalen Travis on the football team. 6'9", 315. He must have played some basketball in his life. His older brother played b-ball for Harvard.

Submitted in jest, but is there a precedent?

Actually, there is a precedent. All pro tight end Tony Gonzalez played basketball for California and was instrumental in defeating Princeton in the first round of the NCAA tournament. He was a bull on the court and could probably have played in the NBA if he had worked at it.
Of course, this was in the late 1990s.

He has a greater lineage than just Jonah, the Harvard small forward:

Brother, Reid, played basketball at Stanford, Kentucky and plays overseas
Brother, Jonah, played basketball at Harvard
Cousin, Ross, played basketball at Penn State and plays in the NFL

Amaker should have grabbed all of them, but I think Jonah didn't get the playing time he wanted. He was a power forward with no outside shot who - at a generous 6'5" - was only a power forward in this league. He had some great skills and moves near the basket though. Harvard was loaded at that time with guys taller than Jonah (Zena Edosomwan, Kenyatta Smith, Kyle Casey, Steve Moundou-Misi, Evan Cummins, Agumwa Okoli). Even Wes Saunders was close to that size. Except for Siyani Chambers, Jonah might have been the smallest guy on the floor. Remember, Okoli was a 6'8" guard and defensive player of the year. Things have certainly changed in Cambridge.

Verbal Commits now shows a 4th commit for Princeton, Malik Abdullahi, 6'7", who plays HS in the Miami FL area. The links below show favorable comments/ratings for an Ivy recruit, though I don't recall reading anything from Made Hoops previously.

This article has comments on both the men's and women's recruits entering in '28. Does not appear to be anything that hasn't already been mentioned in this thread earlier for the men.
