I heard that one before! Maybe he’ll end up at Cornell.

Seriously, though, Bagnoli is one of the all-time greats.

A great football man. Greatest Penn football coach in the Ivy era, and there have been some good ones. Performed a near-miracle at Columbia. Enjoy your retirement!

I hope he overcomes the health issue.
A great coach who made two programs
better.

Wen Al took over the football program it was basically defunct. By the time the season opened it was already competitive. He has been a coaching genius. One of his great skills was his ability to communicate with players, coaches, administrators and finally interested alumni. Once I got to know him a little I would periodically email him and receive answers within a day. His letters to the alumni base of supporters came weekly. He cared about what we thought about the program. Here’s to Mark Fabish, a local boy with a chance to win this job on a permanent basis. Not to draw invidious comparisons but look at the dismal job that Engles has done, from his awful ghost written few emails a year to his on the court lack of any success.
