Is it unusual to designate a member of the departing coach's staff to be "interim head coach"? I guess this is a busy time for recruiting the high school class of 2025, but I would think that the university would want that process led by the incoming coach (whomever that is).

Bigger issue is they need a coach to run spring training, which starts in a couple weeks. Hopefully they hire new HC before the AAU session in April. I know Dartmouth failed to do that last year and it’s a tough thing for an already struggling program to miss out entirely on a recruiting opportunity.
