The gang is back together in Providence to get a couple days of practice in prior to their departure for France on Friday.

Speaking of Friday, a conspicuous absence from the photos of the team on Twitter is one Dan Friday. When I put his name into the student directory - at least the version that is accessible to alumni - I get 0 results. If he transferred elsewhere, he did so without leaving a trace in any of the internet's many corners. Does anyone know more about this?

Bill Koch provides the answer in this morning's ProJo: "The Bears also will be without shooting guard Dan Friday through at least the first semester while he focuses on academics."

There's a quote from Mike as well: “Still enrolled at school, still an undergraduate at Brown University. He’ll take a little bit of time away from the program — to be determined after that.”

Wishing him all the best for his academic pursuits and hoping he gets to rejoin the team in the second semester.
