I noticed that our former head basketball coach, Kyle Smith who is now at Washington State, has received a late 2023 commitment from a three-star 6'9" forward who attends New York Metropolitan Area Prep powerhouse, St. Benedict's Prep. Apparently, the player was offered by at least one Ivy League school, Harvard. Of course, Columbia fans know that Kyle Smith successfully recruited numerous high level player during his rather brief tenure at Columbia. For whatever reason that has not been the case with Jim Engles. Anyway, do we know if Engles has any commitments for next year?

Doesn't appear to be any.
Verbal Commits lists 9 offers. Columbia did not make Sharron Young's 'final 7' so that makes 8.
Some of the offers on Verbal Commits were from a while ago, and it's not possible to tell if all on that list are priorities for Engles or if the recruit still has interest.
Best of luck to Kyle Smith, Columbia was fortunate to have him as the coach. It's a pivotal year for him, with Washington St soon to not have a conference home after the PAC-12 implosion.
