FROM KYPREPHOOPS Nov. ‘22:
One of the biggest movers of the update, Ritter goes from 21st to 6th and honestly could have been as high as 4th. Mason is on track for a breakout Junior season and has earned his first couple of D1 offers in the last few months. One D1 coach told me that he thinks Mason could be the best prospect in Kentucky’s 24 class when it’s all said and done and predicted him to be a Big Ten type player

He averaged only 12 ppg and was listed as just the 15th best player in Kentucky by the Courier-Journal.
Nevertheless, based on the 10 colleges that wanted him, an definite upgrade....

As a general proposition, it is difficult to try and predict which h.s. player will do what at the D1 level. That said, Ritter averaged 7.2 pts and 5.1 rbs his sophomore year. His junior year that went up to 12.7 and 10.4. We'll see what he does this year.
I can't open the article you linked, but the obvious question is, does it cover all classes or just the senior class? If the former, that would explain the discrepancy between the KYPREPHOOPS rating and the rating in the Courier-Journal.

You're right, Dr.V--it includes players from multiple classes, mostly seniors but with a few juniors mixed in.
If he keeps improving at the same rate, that would suggest 15 to 17 ppg this year and likely confirm the prep hoops ranking.
