Well, to be fair, he led the team in assists and steals and was 3rd in defensive rebounds (also 3rd in scoring).

The difference in average scoring between Foreman and Brodeur was less than 3 points per game.

Can you look up the efficiency of both players prior to the second half of the Ivy season? I think there would be a pretty dramatic difference. I cringed when Foreman took a shot until the midpoint of the Ivy season. He just took so many ill-advised shots relative to his ability (up to that point). Obviously he became my favorite player after that.

To be fair, no Penn player is going to stack up to Brodeur's efficiency.

But yes, Foreman's efficiency was certainly better in the second half than the first half.

Very few IL champions have more than 3 double digit scorers. The Steven Cook Princeton team had 4 who averaged double digits. Our 2018 Quakers also had 4 (Betley, AJ, Foreman, Wood). The Yale team with Mason, Sears, Sherrod, had 3. The Princeton team last year had 3.

you ONLY need 3.

Besides the assists, Foreman had a low TO rate and was good finishing at the rim - he was 53% for 2FGs. That's why his efficiency numbers were good.

He wasn't a good outside shooter. He was shooting just to keep defenses honest. And to get some practice in for the Ivy Final game.

And yet that was the 2nd worst rated offensive team of Steve’s Penn tenure, a decidedly mediocre 208 in KenPom O efficiency, trailing only his first season when he had a senior DNH surrounded by a bunch of freshmen & sophomores learning his system.

And yet they somehow won the IL Championship and went to the NCAA’s. It was also his best defensive team . The IL Champion almost always has either a top 100 offense or top 100 defense.
