A Polonowski sighting. He actually looked like he belonged out there.

They had a good mix of players in the later part of the first half. A lot of Smith, Brown, Perkins, Slajchert, and Gerhart. A bit of Polonowski and Laz.

Spinoso is our best big man, but our our offense flowed better when we didn't move the ball through him. I think that has more to do with how long he holds the ball - he is our best passing and overall offense, but Gerhart gets rid of the ball quickly. That has value too.

Penn is up by 19 with 17 minutes left, so they can match up to Princeton's point differential with Monmouth.

I like having Smith, Perkins, Brown, and Slajchert on the floor together. Having 4 players who can handle the ball, pass, and shoot at the same time is a luxury we've rarely had. They all rebound well enough to somewhat make up for only having 1 big man alongside them. Laz also seemed productive again.

Spinoso's finishing is criminal. With better finishing touch (including free throws) and a bit quicker decisions, and he'll be all-ivy. Without it, Gerhart is gaining ground on him. Spinoso is the only one of our big men who can impose himself on an opponent, but when you can't make the bunnies, miss the free throws, and leave your team-mates just a little bit less open for the three by holding the ball and telegraphing passes, it's not as much of a positive anymore.

Even though he is one of our best players and he gives great effort, sometimes it's hard to watch.

I'm just surprised that Spinoso's FT shooting, which was already poor, has gotten even worse. Currently at 38.5% for the year. This may cost us games in crunch time.

Those 4 with Spinoso are really our best 5. I think Steve held back Smith on the bench to give others chances but we probably need him starting and getting close to 30 minutes a game.

Not sure if Holland was hurt but he sure has fallen in the rotation. He is productive when in there but sometimes seems out of sync with the passing game that the team wants to use. Still they will need his length against bigger teams. Smith and Perkins will have a tough time guarding 6'7" and up guys.

Much, much better offensive balance.
