The women beat Villanova 77-75, on a layup with two seconds to go by Abby Hsu. She had 22 followed by Henderson with 18, and Weiss who is beginning to come into her own with 17.

If you missed today's game, suggest watching the final quarter on demand on ESPN+. This was an epic battle between two teams that will likely be on/near the NCAA bubble in March.
Hsu's layup came with 8.7 sec remaining and with 'Nova up by 2... it was a beautiful set play with Collins making a bounce pass to Hsu with the defender's back to the ball. Hsu's pump fake got the defender in the air to get the 'and 1' opportunity.
Then Kitty made a great defensive play near the rim to sink Villanova's hopes of a last second win. And Hsu did a phenomenal job on the inbound pass to deny Villanova from getting the ball to their star (Lucy Olsen). Lucy's a fantastic player... she finished with 33 points and will get some 1st-team, All-Big East consideration.
So many huge possessions in this one...
- Nicole Stephens' clutch/hustle rebound with 1:15 remaining that she turned into a layup.
- Kitty's drives to the hoop... she's become such a great finisher against taller defenders. She's so adept at shooting off the wrong foot... it gives her a split second advantage that keeps her shots from landing in the 3rd row.
- Riley Weiss' 3-pointers... she was 5 of 7 from beyond the arc.

Olsen is 3rd in the country on scoring right now, so, yes, she is elite. And, yes, this was an amazing game.

I agree with Pete D's description of the Columbia - Villanova Women's Basketball Team's game as an "epic battle" between two outstanding teams with Columbia winning the game in the most exciting fashion imaginable. Villanova's Lucy Olson is a terrific player, as is, of course, our own, Abby Hsu, who is no longer just a great outside shooter, but a complete basketball player, and such a joy to watch.

Well said... she's become a very good defender, rebounder, and playmaker, in addition to her knack for scoring. Speaking of which, Abbey just passed Princeton's all-time leading scorer (Bella Alarie) on the Ivy career scoring list.
