Sure, but I feel bad for him. Was getting some playing time.

He seems like a very solid player. The kind you want on your bench to give the starters a blow or to play some key minutes if a starter gets into foul trouble.

Hicke's time will come next season and beyond. The fact that the coaches are so high on him is a great sign.

Today's close call at Delaware is a reminder that we need more defense off the bench. I love Scott and Davis, but they're offensive-minded subs. That's why I'm waiting on Deven Austin to make his return.

I was at the game, which afforded me the opportunity to focus on individual players.

Davis has come a long way. He is better integrated into the flow of the offense and is not necessarily looking shoot first when he is not running the point.

Also, he worked his tail off on defense.

I don't recall much (my age?) of Austin's game except some awesome baseline drive/dunks.

Any insight on why Huggins is no longer in the rotation?
His size was needed yesterday, but Mitch seems to have
lost confidence, unless he is hurt.

Austin played strong defense and hit 3s, although his stroke is a bit
unorthodox.

Davis works hard for sure and is going to be a star for us.

But Austin is a lanky 6-6 - that's just something Davis can't replicate at 6-0. Deven could lock guys down 1-on-1 with his wingspan and agility. He was actually ahead of Lee in the rotation last season until he got injured.

I'm also curious about Huggins. I'm surprised he didn't play more than 1m against St. Joe's. When Pierce fouled out, Huggins could have helped on the boards.

It may have been for that game only.

The Hens are not particularly tall. I postulate that Mitch wanted to stretch the D by making sure any player on the floor had an outside shot, so as to open up the middle allowing Lee et al. to drive.
