86-56. I’m literally laughing out loud after these Lee exploits.

Sorry for your loss. Just remember, it's only money. They print it every day.

Lee with some heart stopping plays - then made my heart stop on that slip. Let’s the bench some run.

33p/8r/7a/2s/1b/1to. As as SOPHOMORE. He started 0-5 from deep and then went 5-6.
I'm not even kidding: I'm seriously worried that he's not coming back for his senior year. Hopefully his mom makes him graduate!

Lee is otherworldly at times, but is a long way from the NBA. Going to need to really bulk up without losing his speed.

Great win but we're all aware that Harvard was far from 100%. No Ajogbor and Mack was definitely not 100% - mono lingers for a while after you're "healthy" again.
I'm laughing at myself for questioning whether Xaivian Lee was ready to be a starter this year - though Mitch is the one that ignited my doubts with his preseason comments.
The only question for Lee is: NBA draft pick or NBA lottery pick?

Very satisfying. Keep going on runs, and they won’t come back.
Harvard will probably improve as Mack gets back in the groove, and their big guy Okpara is legit. But this will leave a mark.

I'm mostly kidding (for now). But for a sophomore who didn't play a ton as a freshman, this is just insane. It's not even the stats so much as the way he plays.
Tosan was undoubtably superb but he wasn't making the opposition look foolish with highlight reel plays every night. And Tosan is good enough to make the NBA Combine and impress in G-League already. Imagine how good Lee will be in 2-3 years.

The garbage time lineup was the inverse of the 4G, 1F lineup that happened without Zach Martini - 1G, 4F, with 6’8, 6’8’, 6’9, 6’10 with Sangster, Huggins, Byriel and Collins along with Duncan. All the bigs seemed awkward in that limited time. Be great if one of the bigs could be a bench piece - just need a big body than can defend a big, grab a rebound and not turn the ball over on offense for now. Any thoughts on who might step up?

Among bench players, Huggins is the only true big man that regularly plays non-garbage time. It's gotta be him unless there's another Caden Pierce in next year's freshman class.
I like what I see of Huggins so far. He's a long, athletic, low-mistake center. Only 6-8 but major wingspan (I'm guessing 7-0, 7-1 like Tosan). He hasn't shown an offensive game yet, but I think he'll help a lot on defense and rebounding.
As great as Allocco is as a player and leader, Martini might be harder to replace. A true stretch 5 who manages not to be a defensive liability against most centers.

Huggins is the only one of that group who has played minutes outside of garbage time. I hoped he would be part of the rotation for league games but he hasn’t seen the court much recently. Sangster seems to be more of a wing than a big man. In any case, has not yet won Coach Henderson’s confidence.

Allocco is great but it’s not a big stretch to think that Davis and Scott (perhaps Austin) should be able to cover his guard minutes effectively next season. But we’ll need more from the young bigs than 10-15 min of defense and rebounding - How much of all that space Lee and Pierce have to operate at the rim is because Martini’s threat of the 3 pulls a shot blocker from the rim?
A lineup of Davis, Lee, Scott, Austin and Pierce is not unprecedentedly small but is a smaller than I’d like lineup.

I think we're just gonna have to play a bit differently next year. For example, I'd like to see Davis and Huggins play some pick-and-roll - work offseason to nail down the timing. Dalen has a really nice midrange jumper that could be a big weapon.

Wow!! Just wow. This team feels and looks different. I never would have dreamed 89 points when they only had like 10 1/2 way through the first. I have no idea what to make of Amaker and Harvard. They looked like a D3 team for most of the second half and seemed totally gassed. Amaker is so low key, too. I felt like they gave up way too early in the second half. Or maybe they just aren't very good and maybe Princeton IS that good. Fun year to be a Tigers fan-glad I got season tix this year.

Princeton is going to need Huggins to step up next year. Outside of Pierce, the 4G 1F lineup has little inside presence. The PF in the 2024 recruiting class, CJ Happy from Milton, is 6’9” 205 lbs., not the ideal profile for patrolling the paint unless he puts on 25 pounds in the next 9 months.
Martini has been a revelation and the Tigers are fortunate to have his combination of excellent positional defense, three point marksmanship and court vision. When he threaded that amazing pass from the top of the key to Pierce at crunch time against Arizona last year I was thinking, “so awesome that he is just a Junior!”

I don’t get all this talk about next year. Just enjoy this unbelievable team and the year they are having. That was a complete beat down of a major rival. Fantastic crowd—4,831 in attendance with the students not even back on campus! (The Upper Balcony bleachers seemed more full than even the lower level season tix area.) I’ve been following the Tigers since the mid-70s and have seen a lot of great Princeton basketball players over the years but what what X. Lee did today just blew me away. The sheer joy that he plays with is amazing—the high stepping, skip-to-my loo down the court, followed by the step-back 3 for his 30th point was unbelievable. Second coming of Jeremy Lin?
I too am so glad I bought season tix this year! Wow!

Right you are TF, this is a fun and special team, let’s live in the present and count our blessings! And agreed on X Lee, not since the days of Brian Taylor have we seen such a dynamic player.

Fair point about next year. That spun off a very this year question about back up bigs prompted by Martini picking up his second foul. That is something that can limit the upside of this team - or put another way, this team can hit another level if they can get useful minutes from the young bigs. We had Tosan, Kellman, Pierce and Martini last year. With the possibility of injury, foul trouble, or bigger physical teams, I’d like to see more size than Pierce and Martini.
