The latter article from October indicates what I had heard about Dingle--that he passed up the opportunity to obtain a Penn degree and it was largely about money now (which I heard from what I believe is a good source was $500,000).

Always enjoy your posts and insight but i can say with 1000000000000% certainty Jordan didn't get in the ballpark of
500k.
Also didn't read the articles but if the premise is quality players like Mack will transfer out for NIL money it's correct, they will.

Well according to "The Athletic", Pitino had built up an NIL Pool for this year's team of $2-3 million.

"St. John’s had multiple collectives established last year, but the money didn’t exactly flow. The school estimated it ranked in the bottom third of the Big East in available NIL money. Then came Pitino. He estimates he’s spoken at or participated in more than 30 NIL fundraisers since taking the job. He set the goal of generating a pool worth roughly $2-3 million in available funds for this year’s team."

Dingle was one of his most sought-after transfers. I would think based on that budget that $300,000 would have been the floor for a top recruit. I will admit, though that I have no personal knowledge--I was told that by someone who claimed to know but as a lawyer, I admit that is not admissible evidence.

Hi all.

Thanks for the mention. I will just add here that NYCHoops is correct about the premise of the piece, and I think we're going to hear more about it across the league over time.

Back to lurking I go - see you all at games down the road.

Is there anything stopping Dingle from completing his Wharton degree in the future?

He would have to transfer back to Penn. It's not an incomplete tenure at Penn.

I see Penn now has "Penn-I-L Marketplace" for individual athletes. Not sure if it is legal yet in NJ.
