Opens Princeton -7 1/2 O/U 143

Glad I forgot about yesterday's game. Don't think I missed a thing.

No margin for error for an Ivy title now. Realistically, probably need to run the table to get a share.

Second night in a row where the Tigers screw up the last minute of the first half. Up 6 and looking good then lost rhythm on both ends and limp in to halftime up two. Not sure why Phillip Byriel has a green light to fire from deep--he's shooting 11% from three for the season and threw up two uglies in the first half.

Offense seems very clunky. Many 3s getting launched but not the result of ball movement with just 3 assists on 11 FGs. Matt Allocco is also not a factor, 2 shots, 1 assist. Defense looks very tight and Brown is shooting poorly … except from 3P, which is keeping them in the game.

Allocco is now playing with passion in the second half, as is Pierce. Up 5 with 5:36 to go, every possession is a grind but the Tigers seem to have lifted their game a notch.

Keno Lilly cannot carry the team single-handed.

Nice to close out another game against an inferior team, but it's a good thing Brown can't score.

Tigers grind out a tough win on the road. Sensational 20/21 from the free throw line is the difference the night after they only shoot three freebies.

a road win on a night when the offense was not clicking.
Great point about free throws. It was a joke that we had none
for the first 39 minutes against Yale.

I actually thought until the final couple minutes Princeton got a worse whistle today than yesterday (mainly on the other end)

To me a real coaching failure by Brown: the double was coming off of every screen--need to find an open shooter.

Great "recovery" game. It reminds me of last year's ugly win @ Harvard after blowing that 17pt lead to Yale at home. With that game, our guys found their mojo and beat Penn twice before finally defeating Yale and reaching the Sweet 16.

Neither Cornell or Yale have faced each other -- or us -- on the road yet. As far as I'm concerned, it's still a three-way tie for first. If a Top 3 team wins on another's homecourt, then there'll be a leader/favorite.

Better offensive individual ability and hard work on D were big in this game.

Way too many static offensive possessions where nobody moved and somebody went iso. And rebounding on both ends was less than sensational. Great job of hitting FTs down the stretch. I think with Saturday refs it’s better if they just let more stuff go, as they did in this game. When the bad refs try to keep it very clean there are too many inconsistencies—better to have a lot of dubious noncalls.

I only watched 2H but had same reaction.

Same as last year but it was Tosan who went iso; either finished one on one, or kicked if he drew a double. But none of this group really draws a double.

Mitch said in the postgame interview that everyone (on both teams) was incredibly tired after playing physical games the night before. Which is to say that sometimes iso-ball is unavoidable.

I'm just glad we have guys who can score like that if necessary.

This game featured one call I saw for the first time
A Brown player was called for being the first to touch the ball after he left the court voluntarily. It was confusing because he was not shown on the broadcast.

Anyone else notice that there were more than twice as many fans at the Princeton-Brown women's game as there were for the men's game? That has to be a first, no?
