Women win 72-52, men win 72-56.
Women went on a 19-0 run and once led 58-33, but let the reserves get some playing time.
The men are very streaky. They went 7 for 11 on 3s in the first half, went cold in third quarter, but stayed strong enough led by Noland and DLR to hold on comfortably.

As anticipated, both of Columbia's basketball teams defeated Dartmouth rather easily this evening. The two highlight plays was Abbey Hsu's behind the back pass and Jake Tavroff's steal and score.

We jumped 15 places in KenPom to 220 and are now projected to lose to Brown next week by just one point. Since we have consistently been running ahead of our KP projections, it is not unreasonable to think that we could beat Brown and then win the next 3 games where we are favored against Darmouth, Brown, and Harvard at home, leading to 6-8 IL record.
In fact, that 6-8 record is what KP now projects.

Actually, the women won 71-52.
My bad: it's crushing to discover that this whole post has been incorrectly titled.

A 6-8 record seems doable, but will that be enough?... the home games vs Dartmouth, Harvard, and Brown are likely must-wins. That gives them 5 wins.
A 2-3 record in the other five games should be enough:
at Brown
vs Yale
at Princeton
at Penn
vs Cornell
Very possible that the final game at Levien vs Cornell will decide their fate.

The Harvard game was certainly winnable and arguably in our grasp. Very frustrating to let it slip away, but thankfully we bounced back against Dartmouth. DLR had an off night against Harvard. I like the way Noland has been playing off the bench and winding up with starter’s minutes.

My prediction: DLR will bounce back against Brown with a 20+ pt game, to balance the 3 pts he had against Harvard and maintain his 13 ppg season average.
FWIW: For the very first time, KenPom has now moved us into the 4th spot and the IL tournament by projecting a 6-8 record ahead of both Harvard and Brown!

I did not see the Cornell-Harvard game, although I assume it is available as a replay on ESPN+ Obviously, Cornell had more success against Harvard than we did the night before. Can anyone explain why?

Cornell hit 3’s, ran and pressed/trapped full court the entire game. Harvard played Cornell roughly even in the first half, trailing 38-35, but expectedly ran out of gas in the second half. Cornell scored 51 in the second half.
Cornell hit 11 3’s, while Harvard shot 5-19.
Was largely Harvard’s tired legs vs Cornell’s depth. Columbia likely took more out of Harvard than Dartmouth did out of Cornell. Harvard’s key players played 35+ minutes Friday, whereas Cornell’s played under 25 minutes.
