Interesting and very plausible scenario to consider:

1) All of the top 3 sweep against the bottom 5
2) for the 3 remaining games within the Top 3, the home team continues to hold serve, so that all three teams finish 12-2

Each of the top 3 will have identical records against each of teams 4-8. The tiebreaker will come down to computerized rankings.

Meaning Princeton is one Cornell win over Yale away from controlling its own destiny for the 1 seed.

With Yale holding serve at home against Cornell, there's still no true leader in the league. So far every Top 3 team playing at home has won against a fellow Top 3.

Since Sagarin ratings have been discontinued this year, the computerized rankings used in a three-way 12-2 tiebreaker would be NET, KenPom and BPI (ESPN). In which case, it would Princeton #1 and probably Yale #2 and Cornell #3. Needless to say, #1 seed is a big deal. Facing Harvard or Columbia (even at Levien) sounds a lot better than facing a Top 3.

There's still a lot of hoops to be played, but I never imagined it could come down to that level of tiebreaker. And next year could be more of the same with Princeton and Yale looking equally good, Harvard likely to improve a lot and Cornell capable of challenging again.

Yale seems to have the toughest schedule remaining with road games at Princeton, Cornell, a surging Columbia, and Penn with 0 back. Next weekend will be huge.

Agreed. Yale has enjoyed huge foul
disparity against Cornell and Princeton.
I would rather be in their position, but
holding on will be tough.

Yale's in the best position mostly because it's banked wins against P and C already. My back-of-the-envelope math suggests that, presuming Cornell doesn't win out, Yale sews up the one seed at 12-2 if it manages to snag one at either Jadwin or Newman. (KP gives them a 33% probability and a 43% probability to win those respective games, so a ~62% chance to win at least one.)

If Yale loses both of those, however, things get dire. They couldn't win a three-way tie with P and C all at 12-2, because the predictive ratings favor Princeton. So Yale would not only need to win all the rest of its games - no mean feat - but it would need Princeton to drop one to someone other than Cornell (because Yale would lose to Cornell on the second tiebreaker if the latter swept Princeton).

TL;DR - Yale is in the best position because they have the most leeway, but if they go 0-2 against P and C on the home stretch, they aren't likely to get the 1 seed.

I don't recall reading anything by Sam Federman before but that is one of the best researched, and most insightful, articles about Ivy basketball I've read in a long, long time.
