I think it would be fair to say that we've been the most disappointing team in the league to this point. Nana is having a career year, Kino is scoring 19 PPG with decent efficiency, even when teams know he's our go-to guy and, as things stand, we're still looking at a single-digit win season and another year without an Ivy Madness berth.
We brought back 70% of our minutes from a team that finished in the KenPom Top 100 in defensive efficiency, but our defense has been abysmal - we let a Dartmouth team with the worst Ivy League offense in the past decade put up 1.2 PPP.
Despite all of this, we're one game back from Harvard and Columbia. We need 4 wins (Penn, Columbia, Harvard, Dartmouth) AND for Columbia and Harvard to go 3-4. A Harvard sweep this weekend would be bad - they get Penn at home and close with Dartmouth at home - but a Columbia sweep could be navigated, as long as we beat the Lions in Levien next week, which is the furthest thing from a given. This is, of course, assuming that the Big 3 wins out against the Lions, Bears and Crimson.
I'm getting ahead of myself. It's all immaterial if we get swept this weekend - have to grab a win at the Palestra for the first time in four years.
