In the Trentonian’s Cornell write-up Kyle Franco made this observation:
Yet the unsung hero of the night may have just been Scott. The son of the former Princeton coach knocked down the second of two free throws with 14 seconds that gave the Tigers a four-point lead.
That Scott was in the game was a bit of surprise — he logged nearly 18 minutes — given that he’s never been in that situation before.
Very interesting that Coach Henderson did not have his starters on the floor in crunch time. I assume he thought that Scott improved Princeton’s defensive look against the taller Big Red. And Dalen Davis had already been victimized several times by Cornell’s penetration and off-ball movement. In any case, very cool to see yet another member of the stellar sophomore class step up and play a critical role in such a huge game!
Assuming Princeton holds serve in the Palestra, the ILT is shaping up as an epic battle. The Tigers will be playing their traditional rivals and will need to beat them in consecutive games (and 12 in a row) and the 2/3 game will be the best semi in the tournament’s history.

As I’m in Mexico I cannot watch the games online. I was out with friends last night who have no Tiger.connection, so I couldn’t even listen to the game! I peeked at my iPhone every few minutes for the ongoing stats. It was driving me nuts! WHAT A GAME!

Fantastic night at Jadwin! This team just refuses to give up. When Cornell stormed back to take all the momentum and go up 5 with four and a half minutes left, I thought the Tigers were sunk. Obviously the players didn't think so. They just re-focused, made some great plays and toughed it out.
Jadwin was raucous. I've been watching the Tigers since the mid-70s and I can't remember the gym being that loud or engaged. (There was a time when our friends and rivals to the south criticized the Jadwin fans for lack of noise and enthusiasm and I agreed with them at the time). The Princeton marketing people and in-game orchestrators (job title?) are doing an amazing job. They even added a "noise meter" thingy on the scoreboard last night and the crowd went wild.

I hope they have more than "intermittent" internet in Colorado Springs.

Well, there might be some way to see the games. There are sports bars here. But, I’m a Luddite stuck in the 20th century.

Fantastic stat. And the last 10 minutes would look even better if you subtracted the uncontested three-pointers that our opponents keep nailing at the buzzer after the game has already been decided.

THAT is an eye-opener!
I did not realize how slim the margins had been through 30 minutes, although the blowout in Ithaca probably had an outsized impact on the average point differential.
It also undercuts the lack of depth concerns. It turns out the Iron Five (or Six) still has had gas in the tank to close out games. Last night when the Big Red went up +5 with 4 minutes to go I sensed some fatigue, but Coach Henderson’s timeout seemed to give the team the jolt they needed.
A critical feature of the success of this year’s team is that they have not gotten into foul trouble or suffered major injuries. That, and their conditioning and grittiness, has made their short bench a minor factor and positioned the Tigers as a very tough team to beat.

I'm guessing their elite FT shooting (81%) is also a huge advantage late in games.
Once they're in the bonus or opponents have to play the foul game, it's decidedly Advantage Tigers. A 3-4 pt lead might as well be 7-8. While Lee has missed some FTs of late, Pierce has drastically improved his FT% in conference play.

Assuming the internet is reasonable speed, if you can log on to post here, you can watch the games on espn+. You need to subscribe for $11/mo.

Princeton is now #1 in nation in fewest turnovers per game, #2 in free throw shooting, #3 in fouls, and #7 in assist to turnover ratio.

Two gutsy wins. I think Allocco ended the debate
about his worthiness for All Ivy, and Pierce made
a pretty strong case for POY. Hope he and lee
don't split the support, but a definite first world
problem. On to Penn.....
The tournament figures to be VERY tough, but this
team thrives in pressure situations. The stat on last
10 minutes is impressive but not surprising.

not positive on this, but IIRC for POY (and probably the other single awards) each team nominates only one player who's eligible, precisely to avoid this problem.

I have ESPN+. Sadly, it doesn’t broadcast entire games or reruns (only highlights?!?) Mexico. Have to wait until I get home in late March to see the full games.

I think there may be a solution to that problem. Yale advertises on its schedule website a way to "watch internationally," which directs you to the Stretch Internet site. Princeton seems to have its own version of the site, and it looks to me like you can catch the MBB games there. I want to stress that I've never used this site and don't know how/if it works, but I assume it's a legitimate option if the Yale athletic office endorses it.

This a great competitive team, more than a dominating outfit. I was surprised to see those +/- splits by “quarter”—I thought they were stronger toward the end of first halves—but they have definitely hit opponents with timely second-half runs. Since they avoid fouling it’s hard for them to force turnovers, but their runs do seem to be fueled by stringing a few together.

Interesting, I had never heard of this problem, but a quick search with Ms. Google reveals it is a commonly searched issue.
In addition to exploring the solution suggested by our yale friend, apparently another common approach is to use a VPN that is not based in Mexico. An extra cost but would have the benefit of adding general privacy protection.
