Penn's win over St. John's that landed them in the Final Four. Would love to see a video of the win over UNC. Has that ever been uncovered?

Here's the Times story on the game. I'm pretty sure LyleGold has a video of it.

Remember when the major daily papers had a sports staff large enough to send reporters to the regional semis?

Best basketball weekend of my life. Not even close. Still have the ticket stubs as you can see on the left.

This game was sloppy at times, but generally entertaining to watch.
Remarkably fast-paced game considering there was no shot clock.
Lack of three-point shot encouraged defenses to pack into a zone, which required some pretty intricate interior passing.

The Syracuse game wasn’t much better in that regard.

When I enrolled at Penn, the 1979 season was 22 years earlier and was ANCIENT to me. Now my freshman year was 23 years ago.
