Langel going for a 4th straight dance (it's already their 6th straight first place season).

Looking very strong in the first half.

They win in a laugher.

Quite a dynasty for Langel.

If anything, he is the one who keeps on bringing Penn guys over there.

From all I’ve heard, he is extremely happy at Colgate. Given his success, have to assume that he has other offers.. I think he likes the lifestyle for himself and his family. Don’t see him going anywhere in the near future. I think he is signed until 2027 or maybe even later

In the unlikely event that we make a change, I think it would be a much better decision to go outside the Penn family and hire an up and coming Div 2 or 3 coach with strong AAU and prep school connections. Time to go in a different direction (not that I expect that to happen). Let's not forget that the Patriot League is now well below the Ivies in talent level.

The one school in the Ivy that has gone that route is . . . Dartmouth. I guess what I would say is that we should be open-minded about our next coach and not set on one path. An alum might be a pathway to better candidate, or it might not.

Well, as you know, my first choice would be to go the Amaker route--big name, big money, but I consider that so unlikely as to be not worth our time discussing. However, only Princeton and Penn have hired their own alums.

In the off case the correct decision was made by the admins and we moved on from current coaching staff, I would be very surprised if they went after D2 or D3 coach. That would be extremely bearish on how serious the admin takes basketball. The big problem is recruiting, and you aren't going to find a solution for that amongst D2 and D3 coaches.

I like Langel for sure if he would even be interested, but if not, a proven assistant recruiter would definitely be my preference.

Brett MacConnell at Princeton has done a great job as recruiting coordinator in the US, Canada and found a POY in England. It is only a matter of time before he moves on to a head coaching position.

Toothless, if you are suggesting that MacConnell would be a possible fit for Penn, I think you are way off base. Brett would fail miserably there. The Quakers should stick with Donahue, who has done a masterful job there. Stick with Steve!
