Hats off to Princeton… they executed beautifully on both ends of the floor. Congrats to the Tigers. I think Columbia’s only chance tonight was for Abbey to go off for 40+, but that likely would not have made a difference.

Unfortunately a 17 point loss to Princeton will be a dagger to our chances for a bid. The fact that Penn almost beat Princeton while we were never really in the game will not help either. So congratulations to Princeton for its decisive win, and my best wishes to our Lady Lions for a great season which came up a little bit short at the end.

To be fair, if Princeton had played against Penn like it did against Columbia they'd have won by 40. Penn benefited from arguably Princeton's worst all round game of the year. I don't think Princeton takes Penn as seriously as they do Columbia, they haven't lost to them since the 2018-19 season, after all.

CM definitely hit the nail on its head with his comment as I think that Penn "...benefitted from arguably Princeton's worst all around game of the year." There's no question that Penn was a much easier opponent than Harvard and the Tigers were fortunate to get the Ivy Tournament First Seed despite losing to Columbia in their Game Two with Columbia. On the related question of the NCAA Bids this evening, I watched Coach Griffith's Post Game Press Conference wherein she set forth her strong argument for the NCAA doing the right thing. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that AD Pilling should have been at her side when she made her case.

As much as I love our Lady Lions I think we need to assume that the one 2 point victory over Princeton will be more than offset by the two 15 point losses. Had we actually been in yesterday’s game and been competitive, or had Hsu played a fantastic game despite the score I might be slightly more optimistic. So let’s congratulate our team for a great season but not expect a bid.

While Abbey finished with 20, incredibly Princeton held her without a shot for nearly half the game. I believe she only had 11 pts. entering the fourth quarter and by the time she scored again, Princeton had about a 15 pt. lead and it was, for all practical purposes, over by then.
And no, Princeton was not fortunate to get the #1 seed. In case you missed it, game one counted. Not that that mattered as far as the seeding was concerned but escaping by two at home doesn't mean you deserved the one seed more than Princeton did.

I understand your viewpoint, and you may be correct, but some have raised the question whether the application of the NET analytical tool in regards to seedings was actually explained and approved by the eight Ivy League athletic directors, and, if so, how. No one is suggesting that Princeton didn't deserve the #1 seed based on the application of the NET, the question is whether the AD's at all eight Ivy League institutions knew it was being used and why.

What possible argument can you make that Columbia deserved the #1 seed? And more importantly, why would it have mattered? Columbia got to host the tournament.
PS You got a bid after yesterday's 17-point Tiger romp so maybe just be happy about that. Enjoy the tournament.

May both the Lions and Tigers bring their best games to the NCAAs.. My most optimistic hope is that Princeton gets by WV before losing respectably to Iowa and The Lions stun the crowd with a run to the Sweet 16. The best to both teams.
