DLR is playing at an all Ivy level. Starting to look like Lo. But we barely escaped last evening. Looking for comments.

We have seen this many time before--a poorly coached Engles team falling completing apart in the final minutes of a game when the opponent applies pressure. Before last night's classic meltdown occurred, the Columbia TV announcer Lance Medow called the viewers attention to the fact that Columbia AD Peter Pilling was sitting at courtside with the two most important alumni basketball bigwigs Jonathan Schiller and Milstein. You have to wonder how Pilling rationalized what was happening on the court to Schiller and Milstein.

Why do you think this was a coaching issue? We led by 13 with 2 minutes and 27 seconds. Then they got on a hot streak and hit 3 threes. It was surprising and almost belied kenpom's projection that we won't lose until we face Rutgers on December 30th. Still, I am not sure why what happened can be blamed on the coaching.

All that matters is the W. Teams throwing up the prayers and hitting them in the last couple of minutes happens all the time. But Columbia is playing extremely well.

Lance's partner on last night's call (not sure if it was Dr. John Gianelli) was incredibly complimentary to Coach Engles throughout the game.

I'm upset about the Lehigh game but maybe it was my fault. Everything under control, DLR looks like a boss, I turn away for a bit, then turn back on to see the final made FT.
