Harvard WBB beat BC for the 3rd straight year, 78-70.
Harmoni Turner had a program-record 41 points with 7 three-pointers. She also had 10 rebounds.

A super interesting game to watch, while Harvard was lights out from 3 (13-26) they also turned the ball over 22 times on a ton of terrible live ball mistakes. Turner was absolutely unconscious, a lot of her makes didn't even touch the net, she was very impressive.

In the midst of WBB strong start, I was somewhat concerned about the loss to Quinnipiac. Quinnipiac beat Princeton on Saturday. That puts things in a more acceptable perspective.

I watched the Princeton v Quinni game and learned two things. 1) Princeton is not as good as they have been 2) Quinni is a legit good team this year. They have a freshman guard from Israel that Princeton could not handle at all.
Oh, also, Princeton lost their leading scorer (for the season, looks like).
Back to the Harvard game, though, if Turner had been as hot as she was against BC and Maine then Crimson win that game. But to me that's a dangerous model, depending on Turner to playing out of her mind to win games.

After outlasting a stubborn Stony Brook squad on Wednesday the women travel to Queens, beating previously undefeated St. John’s on a Harmoni Turner layup at the buzzer.
Tip-off was less than 20 hours after the game at Stony Brook. SB hung tough (final score was 60-51) largely because Turner shot 1-14, scoring only 6 points. Today, Turner scored 27 points on 10-22 shooting.
St. John’s led 23-14 at the half before the Crimson exploded for a 29-11 advantage in the third quarter.
Crimson are now 9-1 and, along with Columbia (#4) and Princeton (#10), the NCAA midmajor ranked #11 squad means that Ivy play will provide opportunities for additional quality wins. I can’t believe the NCAA will go 3-bid Ivy, but there are some interesting opportunities, especially if the #3 seed wins Ivy Madness.
Harvard has only 3 home and winnable contests (URI, BU, Delaware) before the Ivy campaign commences in January. Assuming splits with Princeton/Columbia, even without a tournament championship, would a 24-3 regular season squad be overlooked? Remember, last years squad lost to Columbia in the NIT championship. Suggests 3 Ivy slots were justified in 2023-24.
3 BID IVY!
I’m currently fondly recollecting the posts by Mr. James years ago about the needle to thread just for a 2 bid Ivy!

Ummmm, Columbia got an at large bid last year losing to Vandy in the first four 11-seed play in game.
They lost the NIT Championship game in '23, but not to Harvard. I believe it was Kansas.
