Cornell was a bit out of synch offensively last night, but played better than usual defense and took out the Big Green by a dozen. Okereke continues to amaze with his all-around game, and surely is on pace to be an All-Ivy performer. Dartmouth’s Cornish is a dangerous offensive player and was very impressive with 28 points. Cornell has more depth of scoring than Dartmouth, which proved to be the difference.
Huge game tonight against a talented but inconsistent Harvard squad. If the “good” Harvard shows up the Red will have its hands full in the battle of the Hinton brothers. Cornell’s Adam Hinton has become a nice rotation player, but his brother Robert is a big-time talent .

After Harvard got out to a 16-4 lead, Cornell chipped away to get within 2 at the half. Cornell’s depth eventually was the difference, and a 22-2 run bridging the 1st and 2nd halves gave the Big Red a comfortable lead that was never really in doubt. After a red hot start the Crimson cooled off, with Hinton being held to 8 points a night after going for 28.
Cornell is dangerous not only because their waves of players can wear down the opposition, but on any given night a different guy will play the alpha and take over the game, whether it’s Williams, Okereke, Ragland, Fiegen, Noard, or even a less accomplished player like Beccles. They’re a team that must be hard for opposing coaches to prepare for.
Looking forward to the Red getting a shot at Yale next weekend. Should be a fun one.
