any info on Slaon other than we are on a long list with a mix of majors and mid-majors. he appears to be another high caliber prospect. top 25 in Texas, not too shabby.
interestingly, sloan didnt make the texas top 25 list; the wrong article is linked. he is ranked 33rd, however, which is still quite strong (the pl commits out of texas in 2006 were ranked 49, 50, 69, 72, 86, 100, 107, 129).
i dont have too much info on sloan other than that he seems intent at the moment to wait until the spring signing period in hopes that he will land a high-major offer. his game appears to be solid; the scouting report i read had nothing negative to say other than that he needs to add strength, praising his low-post game, ability to get to the line, 12 foot range, solid passing ability, aggresive rebounding, solid defense and high basketball iq. within the pl, both lafayette and navy have offered.

With American "graduating" four starters, plus their sixth man and another senior, I have been surprised not to hear of more American verbals. Jones is in great position to offer instant playing time to anyone who is any good. Maybe he has involvement with players who aren't talking to Scout/Rivals/etc. I still would not be surprised to see them bring in a juco or two.
BTW, with six seniors leaving, if American produces the same graduation rate as in the latest NCAA survey, only one of these six will will ever earn a diploma. Hopefully that problem is mostly fixed.
Hendra trivia for the over 40's on this board. His father, Tony Hendra, played the role of the band's manager in "This is Spinal Tap" and was involved heavily in National Lampoon. He has also written a couple of books that have done well.

jeff jones has certainly been active this offseason, but has found himself in the unenviable position of having struck out with nearly all of his 'top' recruits: sal abdo, jamar abrams, evan fjeld, jerai grant, max groebe, vlad moldeneavo, todd obrien, sei paye, jeff peterson, daniel watts, mike williams and andrew zimmerman (to name a few).
hopefully he can land a few more of his 'bigger' names before spring. im not sure i trust him to maintain pl academic standards when its crunch time.

Eric, I see that Hoopscoop has a Jeremy Thomas ranked at #419 in their June rankings, but that Thomas is from North Carolina. Did you see something that confirms that "our" Thomas is the one from Jonesboro or are you inferring it from his list of schools? Or is it possible that Hoopscoop has screwed up his town and high school? (I list this as a possibility because I can't find any other info about the North Carolina Thomas.)

...ahh, sorry. this has been the official 'decide where eric is going to grad school' week. and since making decisions is not something at which i excel, its been a long week.
anyway, im pretty sure theres only one jeremy thomas, and he is indeed from jonesboro, at least per the rankings page on the site i posted. the height listed on that site (and hoopscoop) matches the thomas who was first-team all state in arkansas last year... so i think its more than safe to assume.
and in the news, keith olsen has verballed to northern arizona. that leaves fiddler and saunders as the only 'bigs' left on the board.

Bison Recruit Chooses Notre Dame 10-30-06 04:17 PM - Post#19131

Thanks to Purplehaze on the Holy Cross board for spotting this one. The Bison were one of a group of finalists who lost out to Notre Dame on forward Tim Abromaitis.
http://www.courant.com/sports/hc-abromaitis1027.artoct27,0,3301085.story
This demonstrates that Pat is still looking for another player and also that there are many Bison recruits who don't show up on Scout or Rivals. Abromaitis' interest in Bucknell now shows up on Rivals but I don't think it did until very recently, possibly after he verbaled to ND.
P.S. You'll have to cut and paste the link - not sure why some of it is being cut off when it's pasted in.

i dug this thread out after seeing that the last 2007 center hope i was aware of, Russ Permenter, has commited to UT San Antonio. he decommited from TCU, but apparently we never even got him on our watch list here although Rivals listed Bucknell amongst many others for a long time.
anyway, made me wonder if we can round out the updates on where they went:
Accoui - Vermont
i have seen Wannamaker's commitment somewhere, but cannot place it. i honestly don't recall most of the names in the interested but unsigned group, it's like seeing the names for the first time.

One surprising note is Thomas Kopko ending up at Notre Dame. Either he is walking on there or Notre Dame was really desperate for a guard. His list of schools included: Richmond, Maine, Notre Dame, San Diego St, Denver, Colgate, Boston U, Princeton, and Yale. Which one is not like the other ones?
