Any insights into these sophomores' progress since last season and their standing with Coach Scott? I only ask because I have reasons for optimism for each: Buffmire and Ekeruo both saw minutes their freshman years under JTIII, Reynolds has a big body and had an ACC scholarship before Clemson's coaching change, and Rudoy was singled out by one poster here for lighting up Jadwin in pre-season practices.

I have no inside knowledge, but attended the pre-season scrimmage in which the four played.

Reynolds has put on muscle since his freshman season, and played Wallace very tough in the scrimmage. Wallace himself said Reynolds has come along. But with Wallace and Stephens ahead of him, he won't be seen much. He is a couple of inches bigger than any other center we will have next season, will have had two years of practice in the system, and can shoot. He seems like the starting center from day one.

Ekeruo did indeed play last season, mainly in the first few games. He is a solid defender and rebopunder, and doesn't make mistakes. But he has a limited offensive game, and was the third PF behind Logan and Schaen. This year, even with Schaen, Logan and Owings unavailable, he has not been called upon. Savage (and Wallace) have played PF, and Koncz (along with Buffmire was mentioned as being Scott's next pair off the bench. So at the moment, he too is far down the bench. Next season, though, when Logan, Wallace and Stephens are gone, he may be in the hunt for minutes at PF, especially if he continues to work on his offensive game. The picture at 4/5 for next season is far from clear, though with two or three big freshmen added to the mix, Joe will have plenty to consider.

Roduy can shoot very well, and did in the scrimmage, as someone reported at the time. He's also strong and hard-working. And his ball-handling has improved since last season. That said, he is behind Logan, Savage, Owings and Koncz at forward, at this moment.

Buffmire looked the best of all the JVs last year, and is in the rotation picture (see above). But with three SGs coming in, the picture when Venable leaves in uncertain.
