Seeing a red-and-blue P on page 86 of this morning's New York Post drew my attention to the following item:

--------------------

Not Quaking in their cleats

The multifacted [Tiki] Barber also interviewed NBC film critic Jeffrey Lyons, who played [football] briefly for Penn, on his Sirius show. "Our nickname was the Quakers--a pacifist movement," Lyons said. "This is not exactly a mascot to instill fear in opponents. We were behind at the national anthem. We played Princeton and they beat us 57-0. They had a guy named Cosmo Iacovazzi, who plwyed for the Jets, a big, bruising fullback, and I'd kick off and sit down and finish my English homework."

--------------------

Recruit a few hefty linemen, and suddenly the pacifist mascot is much less of a problem . . .
