What's the deal with PU fans?

PU plays two games, gets totally blown out in one of them and there's a total of ONE POST on the PU board? If it wasn't for some dedicated CU folks and some Penn loyals you'd think this site had closed down...what's going on?

Notice, there's nothing on the Tigerwire about last night's debacle. But, the Tulane win is hereon. I wonder why.

It is called "Jake is on vacation in New York City." IvyWire has not been updated since Tuesday morning. Please.

There has been pretty steady posting on PBN for the two Sun Bowl games, including POV reports after each game from the stands in El Paso. Remember, Basketball-U is not the only source of Princeton basketball discussion. There's almost always a larger number of messages on PBN than on Basketball-u when it comes to Princeton games.

Yrs,

My ignorance is obviously endless: didn't know Jake was on vacation in NYC (how would I?), although I heard him interviewed at MSG on WKCR at halftime of the Col-NCS game and there's the AP story about the outcome of the NCS game on Ivy wire on the Columbia page; don't know what PBN and POV are. Ah, bliss!!

There were no posts after this loss because PU fans were so despondent that they (a) were busy jamming the PU switchboards calling for Joe Scott's resignation or (b) were busy committing seppuku in front of Jadwin.

PU Fans - The Deal

There wasn't much to say about the UTEP game. I am glad Wallace has been coming on strong the last few games. Venable is doing great. I'm thrilled to see Owings back. My only real concern was that Logan didn't play. Next game - tomorrow.

We continue to be hoping for progess on offense, but we are (mostly)very confident in our coach. Joe's offenses are different from John's, the reads are not simple, two freshmen have been starting, etc. Unlike a number of Penn fans, we(mostly)don't assume there are things we can see that our coach can't.

With all your posts on the Penn board, Chuck, I'm surprised that you have time to wander over to ours.

But, in response to your observation and implied criticism and, speaking only for myself, I really didn't want to talk to anyone after the UTEP rout. Like a few of my fellow Tiger fans, however, I can't offer Joe Scott any useful suggestions. I have great confidence that he will get the most out of the players he has available. And, I think that help is on the way next year.

Oh, and I'm sure that you enjoyed the Temple game. Did you predict a 44-40 Temple victory or is my memory cloudy? Note the stepped up pace of the game over your prediction.

69, gee sorry to intrude on the solitude of the PU board...though, interesting to note the flurry of posts after my rather innocent remark.

At any rate, I'm disappointed when one of the better Ivy teams bombs out against mediocre opposition, thus I was wondering what the PU folk thought...

FWIW, I didn't get the total score of the PU/Temple game correct...but, think I did accurately predict the winner.

Happy New Year!

Not much to say about the game. Just one of those nights. Princeton made 7 of 9 from field to lead 19-12, then made 5 of 27 the rest of the night. Ended up with 30 3-point attempts and only 6 2-point attempts. 16 turnovers to 6. 12 ft attempts to 36. Outrebounded 29-20. UTEP defended Princeton very well, scored off turnovers and drew a lot of fouls.

Chuck,

Why do you consider UTEP to be mediocre.? They beat an 11-1 AZ St. team who, BTW, beat Temple. UTEP's only losses have come to So. Ill. & TX Tech, 2 decent teams. I am surprised that PU got beaten so badly, but sometimes you just have down games. I really wouldn't place too much emphasis on this game. The bigger concern for PU fans is PU sans Logan.
