Just to get this stuff out there if anyone's interested (and because P38 was AWOL and unable to post a report card!):

(1) I'd like to hear from someone who knows the facts about Zoller's health. He looked hurt on Friday -- no hops, less than his usual (limited) quickness, generally like a high school kid thrust into a college game. I think he's got to be still recovering.

(2) Pettinella's FT shooting has improved remarkably (both form and result). It still looks ugly, but not as bad. And they're starting to go in! Even the misses were generally close.

(3) Fikiel is not the answer against teams like Villanova, although he will probably contribute in the League. He needed to hit the weight room in 2002, and it didn't happen.

(4) Whitehurst will help this team this year. He made two rookie mistakes, but Fran gave him some opportunity and he took advantage of it.

(5) Ibby continued to build his rep as a pickpocket, stripping Nardi and Foye cleanly. His 3-shooting is coming along, but still not where I'd like to see it. He needs to take the ball to the basket much more often than he does, especially when teams are focusing so much on Begley.

(6) Oz continues to get more comfortable. A couple of real bad turnovers though (same for Ibby). Also tends to reach in too much on D (as does Ryan) and pick up cheap fouls. Drive and jam with 10 seconds left in the game was a highlight worth sticking around for.

(7) Team defense was pretty darn good, considering the quality of the opposition. We will not face a group of four guards like those again this year and they didn't kill us.

(8) Rebounding was horrible.

Zoller is the key. If this guy is not going to be better than 70% at any time this year, it's going to be very tough. The loss of Kach is probably not such a big deal this year, but if Zoller can't do it, then what? Let's hope the Z-man is just getting warmed up.

Zoller has been nursing a sore right ankle all season. It definately seems to still be hampering his play - especially agressiveness inside. He's yet to regain his form as someone who can crash the boards.
It wouldn't hurt him to jettison the three-ball and focus on a tangible goal: making 6-footers.
